I just encountered this problem 10 minutes ago after crashing out of the Welcome Area in SL. I usually can log back in after crashing, but this is the first time I’ve seen SL not recognize correct drivers after crashing. I will go through the hassle of uninstalling and reinstalling the same drivers but this is a SL bug that I wish Linden Labs would fix. BTW my video card is a Geforce 7900 GT OC. Check your Drivers :\
Try reinstalling SL if that doesnt work.

Fixed the problem by fully uninstalling, downloading client from website and reinstalling. Grrr... I know this is a client crashing issue. Somehow it's damaging it's interaction with the video drivers.

check if your hardware acceleration is cranked to full
