Ok, after looking around at new posts in the last few hours, I see ALL sorts of problems cropping up left and right... missing inventory (again), missing money (still/again), still unable to purchse Lindens, scrpt failures, pose failures, ghost prims (still/again/maybe they don't believe us)... and all the while, total silence from LL on any of the subjects (as someone called it, a "bunker mentality" at LL).

Now, being the consipracy theorist that I am, I'm forced to wonder... do we suppose SL has been hacked?? Are all these ongoing and emerging and resurfacing problems a virus, a trojan or some other outright attack on SL and LL? And, if so, how secure is our payment info, our balances and our accounts?

Lindens, it's time to stick your head out and provide SOME kind of info, even if you have to tell us that, yes, you've been screwed... we deserve the chance to cut our losses....

You said it yourself. You've made judgment with no factual basis.
SL is a complex beast, and the only beast of it's kind. There has been, is and will be problems as with all complex systems. Be patient and kind and you will get on fine.

We all are perfectly well aware of the complexity of Second Life............god knows we've been hammered with that enough. But even with the complexity, all this "be patient, be kind, we are working as hard as we can on it" stuff eventually comes across as excuses. And I believe it is an excuse...........I do not believe Linden Labs is really working as hard as they can to solve the problems. They are way too much into the fun stuff.........the cool stuff.......the cutting edge stuff to do the mundane, boring and hectic stuff like bug fixing.

Read this http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/06/18/slorpedo/. Some lucky Linden got to go to a convention with the worlds best hackers. Good for him/her........I'm glad he/she had a blast and got a chance to relax and unwind. However, he/she comes back to work with all the problems that have been hanging around for months and instead of tackling the problems at hand decides to tell us of the cool vacation they had.........all this cool stuff we did and it might work in SL!! Whooopeeee!!! So now instead of someone being refreshed and refocused on the job at hand, we have someone rejuvenated and focused on some new cool, oh wow, stuff to try out on us all.

That is the mentality of Linden Labs.

Too bad their blog post about "hackers" won't fix the inventory issues, or compensate all those who lost things/money. It's sort of like this Inventory thing is a major fire burning SL, and instead of putting it out, they just keep throwing more wood into it. I enjoy SL too, I just wish the inventory loss was not a feature of this game. It's a bug, they don't fix. It's money lost, they don't care about.
