Can someone explain why when I send a partner proposal, my parnter cannot get the "I Accept" button to work, but the refusal button works just fine?

According the the SL website partnerships are temporarily suspended. I think the Lindens are voting on whether to legalise gay marriage!

I think they should legalise it.
In some countries including the Netherlands where I live even gay men can marry other men

They were, but proposals can now be made, that was enabled after the last update. But acceptance of proposals does not work, even though the screen comes up fine. Refusal of proposals works just fine.

Anyway, Sl legalized gay marriage a long time ago.

Except that they do. They sent the proposal. I am unable to accept it. The button does not work.

Despite the comment in the blog that this has been fixed, it is still broken. :(

Yes, it's still broken. I have sent a support request in for my issues with Partnering last night. I would recommend that you do the same (if you have not already) with the details of the issue to support@secondlife.com.

I have sent 5 or 6 support requests about this and every one has been totally ignored. I even went so far as to telephone and was basically told to sod off by a very rude person at the other end of the line.

What is the point of saying "send a support request with the details" if it's going to be ignored?

I too am encountering this problem. I know it's probably way down on the list what with the places search still being remedied. But at least I know now it's not just me. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Can't speak for who you talked to, but based on discussions with Torley, I know they are looking into it. But, frankly, with the more serious issues (teleporting and database for example), I do not expect the Lindens have a lot of people available to address this right now. I am confident that they will get to it. But I can be patient, somewhat :)
