So heres my question.
sometimes I get much better performance running both sides in affinity 58-125 client fps no lag all sliders and gpx maxed. including bumpy shiny. (I have to say I can't believe how nice things look like this so much better than 5-20 fps on my old machine.)
if say I log off and come back on I have to set the affinity to just one core. witch is not a problem and I can live with it if I forget I still get 30-60 fps witch is faster than SL can send right?
Dell xps700 Core2duo 1.86mhx nvidia 7900gt 256 (single) dsl 3000mbs all this while streaming from a site back out to my shout cast relay. this machine rocks!

Distilled1 - It depends on how you set affinity. If you do it via the Task Manager, the next time you log in it will be set to both (by default). If you use software to set affinity for the application, you may just need to reinstall to revert back to the default of using both sides (I don't know how to "reset" affinity back to two if using "imagecfg" or the like - someone chime in).

yes Jon, I just do it manually with the task manager, as I get better performance (almost insanely better) with both cores running, unless I log and come back on with out a hard boot of the machine.
So I am just wondering why the client would run better using both cores of the CPU but only sometimes like a first log in to the UI.
Has any one else experienced this? does this mean that SL is getting closer to run on dual cores?

Subscribing to this thread so I can see the answer. Hoping I get the same kind of machine for the holidays

I don't have an answer. I have a dual-core and I always end up running poorly with both cores enabled for SL.
