Right Click Problem

From this morning every time I right click on an AV I immediately offer them friendship rather than having any choices.

Anyone else encountered this?

Yes I've had problems with it picking an option without seeing a menu, not the "Add Friend" specifically. I think it picked "Take" for me.

Well a relog seems to have sorted it - well at least I made some new friends!

i think this is because of the new hold right click and move over selection the release that they introduced...the best way i find is to either 1. use the hold right click and make your selection that way or jut make sure you don't move your mouse after you right click and it will work like it did befor(if that made sense)

Wow thank goodness someone else posted about this - I was looking at my mouse settings, relogged, etc ... heck could even pull up a profile without offering friendship - or pay into the money sploder this morning. Will try what you suggest - the click and hold - gonna be a pain to get used to.

My problems started after the long downtime this afternoon. When I right click the only options I get are on the second menu (i.e. return, attach to HUD, etc.) so I can't sit, dance or edit anything. It is very annoying and I would appreciate any helpful suggestions.

did u try the right click hold feature that they introduced??and this happend no matter what u click on...even if u click on yourself or someone else?

So that explains it then - a couple of times last night (for the 15 mins I was able to get into SL due to the annoying problems) - I wanted to remove a hud device I had and right clicked it and it just vanished.... Not a problem cuz thats what I wanted - but I wondered what had happened. Didnt know about this new way of screwing up the interface by changing something that works perfectly well to something that is completely different. Many many many thanks LL for screwing with us :/

Yes I the same problems. Trying to edit a HUD while wearing it the pie flashes for a second and it detaches. No chance at editing it. I will try the holding-rightclick method. Also does anyone else have a problem with right click a object then click the center of the pie to deselect it? I end up touching the object as well rather than just deselecting it. Not a huge issue but still very anoying since the pie worked well. I don't like the new "flashy" look to it. Takes a extra .5 to be useable. Not a long time granted but when you are in the pie all the time that .5 adds up.

all's i got to say is read the release notes befor installing an update that way you know what has been changed....LL is trying a different way to do things what's wrong with that yes i agree if it anit broke don't fix it but they where not trying to fix it just make it better...that's what an MMO should be about updating to make it better not jusr adding samme old content

I thought I was missing something about the new pie menu "gesture" thing, or that it was totally broken. I thought that you'd be able to right-click and hold, then when you moused over say, "Take Off >," it would automagically pop up the appropriate subpie, centered on your current mouse location. But basically instead of "right-click--move--right-click" you can now also "right-click-drag--release". And if there's a subpie, you still gotta click again.

What's the big deal about that? Shoulda been doing that all along. Same for the contextual menu in the inventory menu, which is STILL "right-click--move--left-click" if you wanna, say, delete something. That one grinds my a** to the bone on a daily basis. LOL.

I think maybe LL should shoot for the pies (and menus) working just like they do in Your OS Of Choice(TM). You can either click, click, click all the way thru the menu and submenus, or click and drag all the way thru.

Yeah, I know, quit complaining and get my hiney over to the Preview Grid. LOL.

If it ain't broke, why "fix" it... oh well... Seems to be working okay for m, but others are having issues.

This happened several times to me too. Seems if you right click without holding mouse on certain types of objects (for me it consistently happens with a disco ball in one store) you can confuse the system (at least it seems confused to me). After I click the ball in the store EVERY item I click on has the attach to hud, etc options only. Even if its a chair or other item that should have sit or touch. I have tried clicking and holding to remove this lockup with no success. The only way to get out of it and be able to see normal pie menues again is to log off.

And in case anyone is wondering it does happen in other places. I just found one store I can consistently recreate the problem with and reported it with screenshots on the bug report.
