Should this card work?
I bought a Radeon 7000 because SL said it needed 1028x768x32bit. Fine. I plug that in and it tells me that my card only supports generic GDI or whatever, and that I should get a Radeon 8500 or higher, so I got a Radeon 9200 with 128 Megs, but I still get the same error message.
I think that the 9200 would fall into the "or higher" category.
Any ideas?

Damn ATI and their numering system. One would think it does indeed fall into the "or better" but ATI has been pulling some shenanigans with its lower end cards. Be that as it may, the card should work with SL as long as it isn't the nafarious 9250, which actually won't work with SL or if it does it works just barely. You might try completely removing the drivers and reinstalling them then uninstall SL and reinstalling it from the downloads page.

The 9200 is a very outdated card.. and if it will run SL, the peroformance will be terrible.
If you're on a budget, buy one of the less-expensive Nvidia cards..
If you are concerned about peroformance in other games besides SL, and have a bit more to spend.. buy a 9800pro

That's what I have and have been using since I started SL. It's the highest card I can go without buying a new power supply. Works for me, but I should shut up before I jinx myself.
