I'm at a Hilton hotel and SL would start fine, then stop at Region Handshake. I was getting the message "Unable to connect. Login packet never received by login server."
I called the hotel's isp, who gave me a "static external IP" for the duration of my visit. Works just fine now.

Handshake Problem Still COntinues!

I am not in a position to request a static IP and I have never needed one in the passed to connect. Has there EVER been an actuall solution to this problem??????????

2 hours of resarts and reinstalls and shut downs trying differnet regions... NOTHING WORKS!

but seriously, no idea but login in general at the moment is taking a good few minutes
