The new patch apparently requires 32 bit mode to run in a window because it automatically starts in a window. This is a problem for me because I have stability problems in 32-bit mode that I do not have in 16-bit mode. Therefor I always run fullscreen. How can I make the startup window go fullscreen and accept 16-bit mode? Thank you

Give this a spin. With SL closed, be sure you have invisible folders set to show and go to: C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\SecondLife\user_settings
then open up settings.ini. Add this line to the end and save: FullScreen TRUE
(That's a tab in the middle!) Start SL again.

I am confused by the use of 16 and 32 bit mode in this post.
It is my understanding that SL insists on 32 bit mode graphics.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville I am confused by the use of 16 and 32 bit mode in this post. It is my understanding that SL insists on 32 bit mode graphics. It does now. Before the recent patch where the startup was windowed it ran happily in "High Color 16-bit" mode. Torley: Thanks alot for the thought, but my setup has been that way for quite some time. It does not force it to fullscreen the login screen tho, it just forces fullscreen after that. It's the recent change that make the login screen windowed that caused the problem. Tho if SL wants to specify it's 32-bit mode only I can deal with that too I guess
