I have a 10.000 square meter properti in Loti, not even used half of my prims, nearly no scripts running but it lags all the time. Two possibilities: (1) Loti SIM is not working in general (2) a nearby club is running too many scripts and has too many visitors. What to do? Pls do not tell me to leave the SIM, I put too muchy effort into building .....
Any suggestions, you Lindens out there? I am facing this problem for two weeks now.

Margaux, I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering as a result of *THAT* lag-pit club in the sky above Loti. I checked it out and it's full of camping chairs, 1-arm bandits, laggy disco lites and the like. This is a classic reason why I'd like to see some sort of link between land and the number of scripts that can be run on it it so that 1 landowner doesn't ruin things for the rest of the residents in a sim.

Resently the whole game been lagging very very bad. Give this update time to settle and lets pray it fixes it............SOme sims are spiking and dils and FPS have been like dealth for many.........

same thing in huchu and the sw caddy corner sim.
a casino has moved into both sim and is each one is only sitting on a 4k plot, yet they each have about 30~40 avatars constantly and suck up massive amounts of the sim resources.
yet dozen of abuse reports have gone unanswered, live help is no help, calling the 800 number does nothing, and even person contact with the lindens, and yet noone is doing anything about it. But yet, one of our very upset residents who owns 1/4 of the Huchu sim steped up and built a 1200 prim wall of flexi cubes on the border of his casino and our group land and she was kicked from SL within an hour..? noted, this was built on her land, and within her prims limits, yet was kicked out of the game? wtf is that about...
anywho... something seriously need to be done about people who are using camping chairs for personal gain by abuseing the sim and then leaving them useless for the dozens of other residents who do try to be proactive on them.
it really seems like there is a good handful of Community Standards Violations abuse reports are being ignored by Lindens. Why?

Something needs to be done about the landowners that put out the camping chairs in huge numbers, not necessarily the people who sit in them. If the chairs were gone there would be no sitters. Realistically one busy club (without chairs) can bring a sim to its knees just as easily. So can a large mall even empty. Camping chairs are not the one and only cause of all this. Huge textures, bad flashing/overlapping builds, excessive or poorly written scripts all play thier part. The real issue is an old one. The right of a landowner to do whatever they wish on thier own land vs whats good for the sim. When I was still on the mainland and we owned more than half of a sim we worked damn hard to make sure we lagged as little as we humanly could. We have since learned we were the exception not the rule. Camping chairs are not the entire issue. |
