Getting stuck on "Verifying Protocol Version" after an update means Norton Internet Security (or whatever firewall software you have) freaked out about the Second Life update and is now totally blocking SL's internet access.
If you're not willing to completely disable the program, you'll need to perform these steps: 1) Remove ALL current "exceptions" or "allowed" listings for Second Life. 2) Uninstall Second Life in the Windows Control Panel. 3) Download the latest release from http://secondlife.com/download Hope this helps! |

Well here is my situation. I already tried that. It is also two computers. The computers have never prompted me to upgrade because I could never get past that point. This morning I got on fine. Today I come home and neither computer will log on. They always get stuck on verifying protocol version.
