What can you do using reference? When world and local are not enoughf.. How do I use it what wil it help me with. .what do it?



Please explain carefully,,, I see pics in front of my eyes not words.. :eek:

Reference is essentially the same as World, except you're working with logical units instead of meters.

For example, say you're building something with wood blocks which are 2 meters long. So 2 meters is your fundamental "unit". You can go into Grid Options and set Grid Unit to 2 meters, and now each whole unit in Reference mode will be 2 meters long.

You can then mentally think "4 blocks of wood looks about the right length", instead of "hmm, 4 blocks is really 8 meters, therefore I need a 8 meters worth of wood."

Of course they are convertible to each other. It's the same thing, but from a different perspective.

Reference can be handy when building things, while World can be handy when placing things (and Local when moving things.)
