Whats going on with SL latly, building anything even in the non crowded sims, empty sims and all i see is prims moving around shifting, warping back to former states.

Debug is full of :
Info Circuit : xxsimxx resent xxx packets
Info Circuit : xxsimxx resent xxx packets
Info Circuit : xxsimxx resent xxx packets
Info Circuit : xxsimxx resent xxx packets
Info Circuit : xxsimxx resent xxx packets

I love building and thats pretty much what keeps me in SL, and some of the oddball friends to! ( my friend list is about 4 people :p ) , trying my patience alot when i try to make the simplest things now.

I nearly given up and hope for a better days, update and update, just seem worse for me, (first who says firewall get smacked ;P)

Running on diffrent machines but they all have it, and i know im pretty far from servers, but im not alone, talked to a few people who build and they all have it, getting out of controll.

It's your firew... *whack!* Ok ok, so it isn't. My guess would be the fact you are in Norway and your latency is going to be murder. Have you tried the Preview grid? Is it any better since they have made some improvements with building in 1.7?

Hi Thili,

I found this happens when the ping-time to the server is > 500ms which seems to be the threshold. This can either be caused by a bad or slow connection, or when you have some up-/downloads running in the background (licke p2p-music downloads, or Bittorrent or similar). If you are sharing a connection with somebody else and that person is dowloading a large file (thus using a lot of bandwidth) can also cause that. It also quite often occurs when you are using a WLAN-Connection. Sometimes this can also be caused by a bad router in your providers datacenter.

Contact me InWorld if you would like to go through the possible causes for your connection.

ping sim and client usually lay on about 190-240ms for me, 5/2mbit cable normally, i can use a 155mbit (not so often tho or they will hunt me down and yell ~.~)

Last weeks every time i tried to make something it just warp back, some i know over in US live close has the same thing, thought it was my firewall messing up but i have a feeling its my isp messing up again (they just upgraded their isp speed's)

I make a torus , change it move it around abit - always will snap back and warp ~.~ i gave up building for now, to see what happens , i run no programs in background, nor wireless, no p2p, naathing,,, and wammoo.

It even happens to folks with latency below 100ms in California and Eastern US. We've not been able to distinguish any pattern to it.

I have been seeing this same problem, as well as frequent SL client crashes. I have a 3Mbit Cable connection with a 36ms ping time, so I don't think that's the issue.

Certainly the SL client crashes aren't ping time, but just bugs. SL used to be stable what happened?
