Hi, my puter seems to dislike SL, when i try to defrag the drive it will do all except the bit that has the sl cache etc.....this prob hasnt just happened it has never let me defrag SL since i joined.
Any help would be appreciated. Trinity. ![]() |

Assuming you're like me, and maintain a max (1GB) cache, what I would suggest (and what I do when I degrag my C:\ drive) is delete the cache before the defrag. That way, everything else gets pushed around and defragged, and hopefully, you have a continguous 1GB available when it gets recreated the next time you login to SL.

This is in no way related to what you're talking about, but I just thought I'd chime in, since you seem to be the sort of person that would care about this. One thing that your defrags also miss is your pagefile. SysInternals' PageDefrag is a great little utility that runs before Windows starts, defragging your pagefile, registry, and all that good stuff. It's good for... well, for that.
