Any clues? Its worst when I teleport to an Island Sim. But if I am walking around my land I will suddenly crash
Stats of my Computer which was recently checked and passed with flying colors:
2.5GHz 1GB ram 256MB Video Ram on a GeForce 6600 Nvidia Card Cable Modem
THis started right after they had the problems with the last update.

From: Usagi Musashi we had a update? hahaha I see your point. But it was ever since the last one. The people at live help seem to think I need a New Mother Board but the Techs I talked to and the ones who ran the test say my computer is operating normally. It looks like Second Life knocks my computer off line. My friend brought over a computer and hooked it up and we ran second life on it and the same thing happened. The modem was knocked off line leading my friend to suggest I not use the malicish(SP) soft ware.

Aggravating and unresolved

Hi Magnum. I am so sorry you are having problems, and sad to report that miserey still loves company.
This is what I have been dealing with, and building around, for something over 3 months now (since 1.11). It doesn't matter what I am doing, there is no specific thing that makes it go tits-up on me. Similar to your situation, it seems about 2x as bad on the private islands my business partner and I pay hundreds of dollars a month for.--Islands which bork out so bad sometimes that we have to contact concierge for help-- and guess what-- no concierge staff is available on the weekends. Whose bright idea was that?
I have spoken to a number of Lindens. I was first told it was my graphics card-- we replaced it with the one reccomended (hundreds of dollars worth of new card) & it didn't help. I uninstalled, cleared cache, took all day to run system diagnostics and defrag-- and it did no good. I was then told it was my connection-- I turned down the settings, replaced my router and paid a pretty penny to upgrade to 15 mb cable service-- it did no good. I have spent more money upgrading this computer than I am ever likely to get back in profits from content creation sales this year, a computer which runs everything brilliantly-- everything, that is, *except* SL. OK-- whats next? Am I using the wrong sort of office chair and need to upgrade to a schmancy leather one?
I am crash logging and I do so hope LL enjoys the 5-15 reports they get per hour from me. I have bug reported it numerous times, and the auto reply lies-- the bug is definitely **not** resolved. And then there were the mostly unhelpful emails I got back from tech help...
I think SL is an amazing platform, and I have enjoyed it till stability went out the window. I must still love it to relog every 2-10 minutes. And yes, the Lindens have done an utterly amazing job for the most part, and I greatly appreciate the hard work and talent that has gone into the program.
HOWEVER--
You Lindens need to own up to the fact that something is BROKEN, because I am at the point that I am sure it isn't me anymore. OWN IT, ADMIT IT, RESOLVE IT, please for the love of Pete! Stop telling me it is my computer unless you want to provide me with a new one. There is nothing left to replace or upgrade.
I have been a paragon of patience in this mess, but this really sucks the fun out of things and makes my SL an exercise in futility. Explain to me now, why we should bother to invest all that money to get that extra island we were pondering with this lack of usability?
/me taps foot and scowls I am waiting.....

Possible fix? Give it a shot ...

Hi,
I had the same problem, except I was using the Nvidia 5700 card. I solved my problem simply. In my case it was a silly Ram problem. I would assume you have more than 1 Ram chip in your machine. Take them out of the slots, blow out the slots with a can or compressed air, then when you put them back, put them in the opposite slots they were in before. If you have 3 Ram slots on your motherboard, put the Ram in the 1st and 3rd slots. Leave the 2nd one empty. I did this with mine and it is now rock solid. Give it a shot. I tried 3 different Video cards before I even thought it could be a Ram problem.
Good Luck Donlizard

Me too

I am having the same problem; on some nights, I crash every few minutes... but this is what confuses me: I can go for days and be fine.. and then, suddenly, the crasheing starts, and will continue until I give up and go away till the next day - when I may - or may not, be ok. Someone said.. and it feels like to ME, that it appears that SL is knocking me offline sometimes.. and it started about when Magnum's troubles started, after the 'upgrade'.
