Inventory Transfer Problem

I spent AT LEAST L$2000 in various shops/sims/stores over the last 72 hours. I received confirmation that I paid each vendor, and nothing transferred into my inventory. I am VERY upset since I just purchased $Ls on this website with my hard-earned money, and have lost a good portion of it with no recourse. I cannot remember ANY of the various stores or vendors I've purchased from in order to contact them for possible assistance.

I am EXTREMELY frustrated over this. Can ANYthing be done? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Live and learn. I now know to check my inventory EVERYtime I purchase something. :(

This happened to me the other day, and a friend of mine, I did what I always do and uninstalled completely and then reinstalled and they all re-appeared, worked for my friend too, might want to give it a go.

Unfortunately, the script language in SL has no way to verify that you have received an item.

And also unfortunately, SL can on a rare occasion lose the command to deliver the item to you.

So vendors rely on a method which works 99% of the time, but when SL gets lagged or is crashing, or any other unstable circumstance, delivery of your purchases can get lost.

I think that if a seller chooses to use a vendor, they should be well aware of this problem and it should be their responsibility to manually deliver the item to you in the rare instances where the vendor code has failed. Even if they choose to sell something as transferrable, they should bite the bullet and provide customers with a second copy within a reasonable timeframe of their purchase if they report a lost item.

If a seller doesn't want to deal with this possibility, they should not use vendors; instead, they should use the built-in "For Sale" option shown on every object's Edit panel. Obviously this means using more space and more prims, but that's the trade-off.

Bottom Line: You should contact the owners of the items you attempted to purchase from and make them aware of the discrepency. They should be able to verify your purchases in their transaction log on the SL website and provide you with another copy of the item(s) you purchased.

Thanks for your help, Willow and Joe.

I *did* uninstall and reinstall after I read Willow's post this morning. No luck. :(

Unfortunately Joe, I purchased about L$6000 on this very website about 3-4 days ago, and then proceeded to go on a mad shopping spree (lol). Unfortunately, I can only remember the name of ONE store I purchased from. Luckily for me, the store owner is also a friend, and is making good on my purchases (and also throwing in some extras for my troubles!). Tyler Vox is one AMAZING merchant at Morbid Studios!

I am now facing the bitter lesson that I must check my inventory each and EVERY time I purchase something to ensure that it has transfered to me.

In all, I have lost over L$2500 in merchandise, *sniffle*, but I assure you that this will never happen again since I will be checking my inventory more closely. :(

I am just disappointed in Linden Labs for not being able to assist me in this matter. I checked my recent history of purchases (under Account History, I think). The odd part is that the last 5-7 days show no account transactions, yet there is a note that $2597 has been deducted from my balance. Even if I had given that amount to a friend of mine for no reason whatsoever, wouldn't it appear in my daily account transaction summary? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Each transaction should show in your daily transaction summary, showing the amount paid and the vendor paid to. It won't say what you bought, or at what store, but it is a start.

I can't think of any reason why the sales wouldn't be in your history...
