New Laptop, New Troubles

I've been a part of the SL Community for a little over a year now and have always been able to log-on and enjoy my account. Just recently I stepped out to buy a new computer, a Compaq Presario C700, and the SL client has suddenly become a headache.

The SL client will go to the loading screen and everything good, I'll even get that little "ding" noise that lets you know when you've popped into a region but half a second after that ding alert the entire SL client just vanishes on me.

I suspect this may be related to the graphics chipset this laptop features or the fact that it is a Vista machine. If anyone knows anything about how to resolve this issue or just even use a cheap little workaround I would really appreciate to hear it.

Intel X3100 graphics + Vista != SL

for basicly 100$ more you could have had the V6500Z with a geforce go (and a faster cpu) and not had any headache

good luck with a workaround, even if you do find one it will eventually stop working again

you could try the newest driver from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2800&OSFullName=Windows+Vista*&lang=eng&strOSs=163&submit=Go%21

I am also having the same problem with the same graphics card. I have updated the driver to have the latest one, and system still crashes...
