I've logged in perhaps six times since the upgrade earlier this week, and each time I login the download is required. There's no way to pass by this step. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone else have a workaround?

I know there have been at least three upgrades in the last few days. Is it truly requiring a download every time, or does it just seem like it?

RE: New Version required

Hi! New Second-lifer and new forum user. I'm having the same problem. It requires the SAME update to be downloaded each time, and each time I do, it loops back on startup that the same update needs to be downloaded. I can only accept or quit, can't get past it. Help! I'm on my second day of my seven day free trial. I hope I won't have to pay for a day I couldn't access second life.

Second Life is currently down for maintence. They've got the update up, but, it looks like they're still patching. Give it some time, and check www.secondlife.com/status regularly.

Yeah, me too. The 1.4.1 automatic proceeded as it should, but this one will not let me continue unless I donwload the update, it downloads, installs and immediately asks to download when SL relaunches.

I have a Problem with the Download, it tries to download the version but it Stops and Says that it can't find the update and that I should e-mail them and tell them the Automatic Updater is broken.... that just happened a few minutes ago....

It has to do with your cache or something like that.
Download the new version of SL from the website instead of doing the update. This will do a full install (over your old) instead of updating a few files. When SL is up, this should clear the looping upgrade problem. _____________________

Mmm the updater still seems to be broke through the direct update.
And downloading the file through the website only results in timeouts for me... |
