After the last update <1.8.2(7)> I have had this extremely annoying problem. Whenever I drag and drop an outfit onto myself, it loads fine, but I ALWAYS find these annoying green or purple lines! I thought it was a client side problem, but my friends noticed it and were like "What the heck is up with your clothes?!" -- It's SO ANNOYING! I've tried everything (on my side) to fix the problem: Defrag, ChkDisk, Update GFX Drivers, Clear Cache, Uninstall/Reinstall, etc... but nothing. Also, I've noticed one outfit only gets the lines when I put high heels on ;/ -- So it's either have weird lines all over or go barefoot, meh. There is also a different problem. Sometimes I will see "tire track" looking lines running through textures / skins. It is like a tank track that is small and just overlayed on the texture. I have even seen this on the LOGIN SCREEN! WTF? However small, it is still annoying. One time I had an outfit where my back was exposed and *HONK HONK* there is the track running right across my back lol. Also, these weird green and purple lines love to pop up in screenshots after I select (UPLOAD TEXTURE $10) which is fun because I end up spending a lot of money just to get ONE picture without the lines ;/ ANYWAYS -- Here are some screenshots with the irregular areas highlighted.

Hmmm, what are your system specs? CPU, video card memory etc.
Have you tried updating directX drivers, I have seen corrupted DirectX drivers do some wierd things. If you are on a laptop sometimes the shared video memory gets strange artifacts. Try turning off (or on ) the avatar vertex program in preferences an see if that affects anything.

Well, I am on my desktop (which I use when I don't have my laptop. My laptop is my MAIN computer (since it is the best but currently getting a replacement).
ANYWAYS.
DESKTOP AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 40 GB HD (Used to be 160GB but I use that as an external HD for media). 1GB RAM NVidia GeForce 4 MX (Updated Drivers / Latest DX version) 64 MB Windows XP Pro SP2 (All Latest Updates)
LAPTOP Intel Pentium 4 HT 2.8GHz 512 MB DDR2 RAM ATI x600 Mobile 128MB 80GB HD Windows XP Media Center Edition (Latest Updates).
I haven't played SL on my laptop since before the update I mentioned earlier. Currently my laptop has had major power issues (it is a HP ZD8000) and so they are going to replace it after I get it sent in, I have just been too lazy to back up my files.
Anyways, I've played SL even before that on my desktop and never had said problem. This only started happening after the update (mentioned in top post).

when you get the lines, have you tried to go into appearance and change a slider and save? This will force a rebake of the avatar textures. If they are still there after the rebake you may need to contact support.

If they are still there after the rebake you may need to contact support. Funny thing is, when I go into appearance, the lines (at the least the ones on my skin) dissapear. However, no matter what they come back after I exit APPEARANCE. This is very strange. Also, I wouldn't really mind if it was client side only, it's just the fact that OTHERS see the lines on me as well ;/

If that is the case you have a corrupted account or something like that, you need to contact support and have them look into it.

From: Robin Linden I'm forwarding your post to the QA team to take a look. If it's something that is unique to you we'll get support to work with you to understand what's happening. If the problem is more widespread, QA may already have a work around or a fix in the works. Hopefully that helps, but I think you're right about my account *sigh*
