When trying to sign up for a paid additional account, I get hit with this message: "XXXX, You are unable to create an account at this time. Linden Lab reserves the right to limit the number of Second Life accounts an individual may have. If you feel you've reached this message in error, please email customer support at support@lindenlab.com" According to the knowledge base LL does not restrict the number of Basic or Premium accounts a user may hold. Here's the link: http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=308I talked to someone at Billing support who had never heard of this problem and agreed that I should be able to create an additional paid account with no trouble. I was given the impression that someone would be emailing with further information regarding the problem, but I don't feel terribly optimistic. Does anyone else have experience with this issue?

From: Julian Paster I talked to someone at Billing support who had never heard of this problem Muhahahahaha! Never heard of it? there are at least five separate threads about this in the forum! People are running into this all the time. From: someone Does anyone else have experience with this issue? At the moment everybody who tries to create a legitimate alt. People have also found a workaround that doesn't require you to commit fraud: use your real info (name, address and such) but use a different email address. It seems that the system is not allowing more than one account per email. That way you can create an alt without lying about your identity. You won't get asked if this is your first account (as you should be) and you won't be asked to pay a one-time fee (as you also should be), but frankly, as long as you're honest about who you are, that is LL's problem. There currently simply is no way to pay the one-time fee supposedly required to create an alt.

Suzy, thank you so much for your response.
I'm glad you mentioned the fraud issue. All I wanted to do was create a legit account, which makes the error even more irritating.
I last managed to create an alt successfully about a month ago, but never once did the process ask if this was to be an additional paid account. It's like LL removed that option from the sign-up process altogether.
*sigh*
At least I now have something to go on, thanks to you.
