1.6 Preview issues

1e5cc77e-eec1-8e7e-b04e-2e5c287350f0.tmp.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.


I get this error message after the preview tells me that there is an update to install. I click okay to update, it closes the program and runs the Second Life installer program. Then MS Windows picks up an error and gives me the above error message.

Also, when I have been able to load 1.6 - I get "Incorrect Password" when trying to log in. However, I am able to log into the previous version.

I'd suggest the following:

1) Open c:\Documents and Settings\(yourusername)\Local Settings and delete the contents of your Temp folder.
2) Open c:\Documents and Settings\(yourusername)\Application Data\Second Life and delete the contents of the Cache folder.
3) Uninstall the Second Life Preview using the Add/Remove Programs tool in your Windows Control Panel.
4) Visit http://secondlife.com/preview and download and install the latest release.

If you cannot see the files or folders, go to the Tools menu, choose Options, go to the View tab, and select Show Hidden Files and Folders. Then click OK.
