I've been searching the forums and the wiki for the answer to my question, but no luck.
A few weeks ago my brother accidentally deleted the secondlife.exe file. I hadn't played in a long time anyway, and I just have a basic account so I didn't worry about it. However, I'm still receiving group emails. Do I need to re-install and then unistall to stop getting them? Or is there a certain file I should delete? I don't want to cancel my account because I may want to play again in the future. Sorry if this is a dumb question...searched many ways but found nothing.

I am not sure, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think you will have to reinstall, log on, and go into the preferences. Once there unckeck the offline IM to E-mail option and hit save. You can then uninstall and that should do it.
