I just installed a new video card, GeForce FX 5500 PCI Express 256 mb.. Everything works great. Except the Shiny Objects check box is still greyed out in Preferences/Graphics. Anyone know how to fix this?

I think you need to check "auto detect grpahics hardware on next startup" in the general tab to get that all worked out.

Did that several times, also went to nVidias website and got the most recent drivers. So I dunno what I'm doing wrong.

From: Cheyanne Patton 256 mb RAM... Shiny is disabled for 256Mb of system ram because of system instability, it can be reenabled if needed to try by editing the following settings file remove this line RenderObjectBump FALSE from C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\ApplicationData\SecondLife\user_settings\settings.ini
