When hubby and I both try to get on SL we have several problems. If I am on when he logs in, I will crash. If I try to log back in he will freeze up. He can turn, send IM's and see me trying to come online, but can't move otherwise. I will get to connecting to region and no further. Does anyone else have this problem?
We have different IPs.

With "differerent IP's" do you mean different internet providers or different IP #? Since every pc has a different IP number. Or do you have one provider and a router? If this is the case, just add a port number after the target path in your shortcut properties. Some routers just don't do the SL job very well and unless you want to buy a new router you can try the following.
Right click your SL desktop icon and choose "properties". In the target window just add -port 13010 after SecondLife.exe (with a space between). so that it reads e.g. C:\....\SecondLife\SecondLife.exe -port 13010
You can do this on your hubbies pc too, assign the next higher port number, e.g. -port 13011.
If you indeed have 2 different internet providers then I don't know what the problem could be. Never heard of such a case.

Interesting....... From the above post, I'm presuming one can force the outbound data stream through a particular port....say some oddball one like 932 and have the server's return data come through the same hole. Is this a correct assumption? I have a problem with a pesky firewall and am unable to forward ports.

No, the port numbers are SL server ports, not any ports. http://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=TechMultiplePCsThis issue was discussed in the past. Do a forum search for router and port. It'll bring up older threads. Demian

Thanks Demian. I think that was the problem.

The acceptable ports for this command range from 13000 to 13050.
