new download : https://secondlife.com/downloads/index.php Also recommend you clear any caches, second life and windows,, Some apperntly gotten the 1.6.15 one then few min later they got 1.6.1 (2) Current version is Second Life 1.6.1 (2) Apr 7 2005 08:52:04  |

Sl cache is usually in :
C:\Documents and Settings\**username**\Application Data\SecondLife\cache **username** : is what you log on windows, usually administrator or your name |

uninstall SL and download the 1.6.1 installer from the download page.

I had to uninstall & reload the full installation provided by Thili Playfair. Everything installs fine but now I can't get in. Contacting user server.... and then back to the login screen. Sigh, I love this new upgrade it's great!
 It could be that everybody & their mother is trying to login right now. Notice 277 people logged in the forums last time I checked. |

That's all well and good, but they actually need to FIX the problem with the patcher. You shouldn't have to download the full install every time they patch.

 the SL install is peanuts compared to how many mb/transfer you can do in streaming in SL under a hour , i never liked patchers, they are very easy to bug up.(point to over 20 online game she played they all had the same problem with updaters) But then again those games wherent streams , but huge clients with every texture and diddle'do'da's. |

You ask for a solution, I gave you one...or you can sit on your thumb while you wait for them to fix it. 5 minutes out of your life isn't going to kill you....you would have to reinstall the whole thing with the update as it is. Sheesh. |
