Last night, I got booted off of SL. Just logged me out. It's happened before, so no big deal, I thought.

Then I restart the client, and get the big ol' Hand logo screen. Tried to log in anyway - DNS unable to resolve host. So, I go to check out the blog. Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. But my connection was still good. I went around about a dozen or so other sites to see if my connection was having problems, but could visit any site I tried - just not SL.

Same thing this morning. I've rebooted my PC twice, rebboted the broadband hub. Still nothing. What's going on? I've been able to access the website through my work PC (hence I can post this, and have submitted a ticket) but am at a loss on what else to do or try!

I had this Problem also one time.
The solution was to provide the system an alternative DNS server IP adress, in the settings of my networkcard. The DNS server of my ISP was having trouble so i solved it this way until it was fixed.

Chaffro, there's been a couple of threads about problems with DNS servers for people in the UK, specifically people on Orange broadband, but also others:

Post 11 in that thread offers a possible solution using different DNS servers.
