Yesterday while getting ready to sell our 2 properties (home and store) we used the "return" feature on the lands. Big mistake on our parts since we now have no home, no furniture, no possessions. Its all gone. Yes we cleared out cashe, yes we restarted, yes we waited for the asset server to catch up. yes we double checked our "returned" log. Yes we checked our lost and found and did searches for things like our HOME. Nothing! 7 months of work and saving and buying and its gone. I'm so disheartened and so very aware of the "oops, we can't get it back for you, sorry!" excuse. *SOBS*
Thought I'd include this as proof that it was SUPPOSED to be returned.

And those are just the items supposidly returned to ME. Not including my wifes.

I renamed a folder that had about 5 items in it. The next day the folder was still there but the contents were 100% completely gone. Luckily I had a backup so I was able to retrieve my lost items. I am sorry to hear about your huge loss and I hope that somehow it will work out for you in the end.

I'm just a dork, seems now they have this feature that "packages" your objects when you return a bunch of them. Soooooo, I had 8 objects that were in packages of 87, 92, 5, etc etc. So that wall that was named "ojbect" was actually 1/8 of them in one Please rez responsibly in edit mode

If you owned half a sim or more, contacting concierge about a rollback *MIGHT* help.

I've lost a lot of objects too. For example, my doors, lol. My house has no doors, when I logged in today, there was some surprises in there, like a painting (horrible painting) on the wall. I'm getting angry, I will wait, and I hope that all my objects come to me again

Hey! The last 2 times multiple objects of mine have been returned only ONE out of the MANY returned was listed in my inventory.
Initially i was like "WTF? my items are gone!" But upon rezzing that ONE item, ALL OTHER ITEMS RETURNED AT THE SAME TIME WERE ATTACHED to the one...really weird, but they were there. I hope this is the case for you.
I was also in a group of a large residential community and about hmm 5 times there were group ims of residents saying "my items were returned but are nowhere in my inventory" as if something was 'eating' these items on the way into the users inventory....... very unfortunate if this is what happened to ya.
Someone mentioned a rollback...thats probably the way to go.
But really, rez your most recent item in the 'lost n found' folder- like with what happened to me, that could be all of your items linked together as one

out of sight, but still in my pack
10-09-2006 03:21
Objets often appear to vanish from my inventory, but reappear again after a few hours, or sometimes a few days. My theory, they are still in inventory, but somehow cannot be seen, they fade out of sight, or temporarily become invisible.

sad but true

I also had a folder missing out of my inventory when I was just in SL no more then 2wks. When I posted on the "BLOG" about this no one and I mean no one in SL cared to come forth with a answer until I had to contact them by phone. Sorry to say but like the lil man said to me " SORRY BUT WE CAN'T REPLACE UR FOLDER OR EVEN GIVE YOU WHAT YOU SPENT FOR CLOTHES" I SPENT CLOSE TO 1,000L$ FOR EVERYTHING THAT WAS IN THAT FOLDER NEVER EVEN UNPACK MY ITEMS AND LL LOSTED THE WHOLE FOLDER... THIS IS WHY NOW I GO TO YARD SALES IF I LOSE SOMETHING NOW OH WELL I DIDN'T PAY THAT MUCH FOR IT ANYWAYS.
BUT IN ORDER TO GET ANYTHING BACK FROM LL , BEST IS TO CALL AND KEEP CALLING THEIR BUTTS AND TELL THEM YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEAK WITH THE SLAVE DRIVER YOU WANT TO SPEAK WITH THE MASTER OF THE WHOLE CHITTING PROGRAM.. 1MORE THING IF THEY COME UP WITH WELL HE IS BUZY TELL THEM FINE MY LAWYER WILL BE CONTACTING HIM SOON .. YOUR GET THRU QUICK

I sold my 16K sqm property and 95% of the objects there did not make it to my inventory. I estimate my loss at a minumum of L$20,000 between furniture, animations, scultptures, etc.
People asked me why I sold. Well, between in-world griefers, down time caused by hackers, and bugs like this, I no longer feel comfortable entrusting LL with my money. I am not a businessman here, so I don't make any money. What is next? Land dissapearing and unrecoverable? Pablo ps. yes, I tried the inventory thingy in the knowledgebase and filed a bug report to no use.

Still being new and messing with the return feature on my parcel certain sections of my home and various items i had returned where all lumped together as one "object" in my invent. When i rezzed "object" they all appeared again. So maybe you should try rezzing the most recent items named "object" in your inventory? not sure if its any help? but i wish you luck.

DONT FORGET RECENT TAB in the inventory Folder
10-09-2006 06:07
Before I do anything like returns I Log off and then back on. (clears recent) 2) create a folder and place a new notecard in it ( so it is seen by the recent Tab ) 3) Do the return. I then go to the recent tab and drag everything to my folder i created for the objects. normally that works pretty good IF you MUST do a return As for homes and such, Buy Copy homes or if its your own place it in an auto rezzer so it can be built over and over again. then all you have to do is delete the thing, probally needs replacement anyway after all those dirty boots have marred the floor.

The last 3 days running I've been at my house and seen furniture just vanish before my eyes. I've had messages saying an object has been returned to lost and found, only it's never there. I'd ask for reimbursement but reckon I'd be wasting my time, still,I could try it just to annoy someone, wonder if I can get a refund on a faulty penis,it's just embarrassing walking around without a penis, not to mention downright messy taking a pee.

Coalesce Feature
10-09-2006 08:41
Suppose you own 1/4 or 1/2 sim and all the objects in that size property get returned to a single object due to the coalesce feature so thoughtfully put out. If you move to a 2048 parcel, how are you supposed to rezz all those objects back? Parcel Full - Parcel Full - Parcel Full And if you try to rezz them back on a sandbox, if there are any trees and/or grass in the object, it won't let you rezz them back because you cant do trees or grass on a sandbox. Duh. So still out of luck.

Coalesce doesn't work for me. Lindens don't answer. I've lost money and time. And nobody gives an explanation.

Lost Wings
10-11-2006 15:53
I somehow lost my flex wings the other day. Not sure how I suspect I clicked myself and they detached. The trouble is they never showed up. Had to buy the again, they can not be copied to back them up. Wonder if I could still have them somewhere as an object not named? Is that possible?
