Who removed a group-owned object from an island?

I am the owner of an island, and several objects of that island are owned by a group I created. Yesterday a member of that group removed (probably because of unexperience) an important object. I suspect he/she did a TAKE rather than a TAKE COPY. However he/she did say nothing. I need to know who is he/she. Is there any way for the admin of an island to know who removed an object?

Few different cases:

* you can't "take" a group-owned object, you have to set it for sale and buy it back - you need to have a specific group-permission in order to set deeded items for sale, so use the group window to see who has it assigned

* return/delete (if you don't own the object, they both do exactly the same thing) - requires return permission on the land where the object used to be (or an estate manage could do it sim/estate-wide), or auto-return was set on the parcel with the wrong group.
What happens to the object depends on the permissions: if it was transfer it'll be returned to the person it belonged to before it was deeded, if it was no transfer then it was deleted. I *think* full permission always get deleted on return/delete as well when group-owned but not 100% sure

* it's not actually gone but had "Allow everyone to move" checked and someone moved it

* Other misc things like it's still where it's supposed to be but the land was raised to cover it up (land owner or estate manager), another prim is covering it up, etc.

You can check the estate owners and anyone with return/delete/set group owned objects for sale permissions in the group, but there's no way for you to determine who did it other than narrow it down to who could have and ask them.

If you didn't change anything on your sim since yesterday you can always request a rollback of your private sim. Make sure you know what that actually means before just requesting one: anything that happened on your sim since the time you roll back to is undone. If you parcelled your sim since yesterday it'll be parcelled to the way it was before, if a parcel changed owners it'll revert to the previous owner, if you rezzed something it'll vanish from the sim (and not come back to your inventory), if you picked anything up you'll end with it double, etc.

Hope that helped :).

Kitty,

I believe that parcel ownership does not revert in a rollback. There was another thread recently where a new sim owner got a successful rollback to before their time of posession, and everything worked correctly without any ownership changes. Correct me though, if I'm mistaken, or if I was just drinking heavily when I read the other thread!

Are we talking about the same thing though?

It sounds like you're talking about ownership of a whole sim? If I transferred ownership of a sim to you (through concierge) with a build already on it, but something goes wrong, then you could roll that back to a point where I still owned the sim and your ownership wouldn't be affected.

I meant for instance I'm renting a 512m² on a private sim and sold it to you and the sim rolls back a day to before I sold it. After the roll back you'd loose the parcel because at the time of the rollback point was made I did still own it.
If it went back to say an hour after you bought it, nothing would change since you already owned it when the snapshot of the sim was made.

If that made any sense :p.

(Anyway, I was just trying to caution the OP that a rollback isn't a magical solution and to understand the potential consequences of just blindly asking for one. If there are specific needs it would be best to ask concierge and sort it out with them :))

I own 2 groups, as far as Im aware any member of that group can remove items if the land is set to the Group, not sure if yours was or not but to do this you really need to know and trust group members, mine are private for that reason.
