Since yesterday my sle started crashing when im logging in.Occasionally that problem changes into "DNS could not resolve the host name". Before that everything was running perfectly fine, and i didnt change anything since then, not in my settings and not in my hardware. Tried reinstalling twice allready, done all the maintenance on my computer that i could...still nothing helps. Only thing thats left is to reinstall windows..i wonder if its worth the try.. This is driving me insane!

Somehow I am glad not to be the only one with this problem. I get the same message. Yesterday morning everything was fine, in the afternoon I got the error message, at night i was able to log in without any problems, and now i get the error again. No idea what to do.

Well,it turns out that it seems to be a network issue for half of the german customers. I can only hope it will be fixed soon

DNA resolving problems

On the beta grid, there are a lot of German residents now complaining they cannot log in (including me). So maybe it's a regional problem?

@sami this is what i got for my support ticket yesterday ( i have to mention that half an hour later all worked fine but now i have the same problem) From: someone Greetings,
Thank you for your inquiry. There are general internet issues affecting login at this time that is out of our control. It seems to be affecting mostly European customers. The only thing we can suggest is to try again in a couple hours.
Regards,
Warren Linden

T-com....just to quote one of the discussions on jira ...."Asking around friends turned out they could log in fine, but as it seems, they have network troubles which cut Germany's T-Online and probably other parts of Europe or subscribers from carriers who route through Level3 networks from the grid. "

Refer to my Thread " This will solve login Problem"
I have posted the details on how to vercome this.
I have not mentioned this but I am in Germany and it is the German network or Festnetz that seem to be affected.

I can now log in and here's how. 1) Goto Control Panel 2)Open Network Connections 3) Right Click your icon that connects to internet 4) Highlight the TCP/ICP in the list then click properties 5) Click Advanced 6) Open the DNS Folder at top of Menu 7) On the top box, click add and type the following 194.25.2.129 then repeat this process with 194.25.2.130 9) click okay then restart computer This has worked on 2 of my computers 1 with Vista the other with XP and I am now back in SL. Good Luck hope this helps and resolves your problems /111/3c/200566/1.htmlLast edited by Larrie Lane : Today at 09:31 AM. Reason: mistyped 1)

Failing log in may be T-Com failure
07-29-2007 06:42
I have the same login problem since yesterday. Before, all was fine. New installation of SL or clearing cache didnt help. Loging into www.secondlife.com is no problem, but when login into SL I get messages like "requested URL could not be retrieved!". May be it's a regional carrier problem: I am fom Berlin, carrier is T-Com. Has anybody an idea what to do in this case?
