Ok, so for the past 2-3 weeks I haven't been able to get on SL on our other computer . Everytime I try to open SL I get this message: " Second Life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed. If you continue to receive this message, contact customer service." I have done Windows Update numerous times and it says the computer is totally up to date. I don't know what else to do, can somebody PLEASE help me.

Windows update may not find the latest drivers for your video card. You may need to goto the manufacturers site, download them and install them manually. Why type of video card do you have?

If you are using Windows XP, you can go start->run, then type "dxdiag" (no quotes) and hit ok. You may have it ask a question like "Would you like to check for WHQL something...." answer no. Then goto the first display tab at the top and select it. It should have an area in it that says device with name, manufacturer, chip type, memory, etc. All of that info is useful in pointing you in the right direction, or perhaps what make/model is your pc and I can maybe look it up.

Well good news and bad news. You have been lucky to even get SL to run using an Intel Graphics adapter thus far as long as you have. Even certain Linden's I have spoken with have confirmed that the Intel Graphics adapters are not supported, and "are a miracle that they even work" with SL. Looking up your system, I'm seeing you are running Windows Vista, correct? Vista+SL+Intel Video=Bad Combo. Since you are running Vista, then I do have faith that more than likely you have the latest drivers for the video adapter already installed. That's the bad news but maybe not the end of the road. I also see in your system specs that you should have an available PCI Express video card slot for upgrades. I'd recommend possibly seeking out something along the lines of an nVidia 7600GT to perhaps put in there as an upgrade which should handle most of the gaming needs that your system is capable of and not break the piggy bank. Here are the specs on your system I dug up off EMachines site that I'm basing my assumptions from: Operating System: Windows Vista® Home Basic CPU: Intel® Celeron® D Processor 356 64-bit processor with Intel® EM64T Technology (3.33GHz, 512KB L2 cache, 533MHz FSB) Monitor: Includes eMachines® 15.4" Widescreen LCD Chipset: Intel® 945G Memory: 512MB DDR2 dual-channel capable (1 × 512MB), 533MHz (PC4200) Expandable to 2GB 2 DDR2 Slots (Total), 1 DDR2 Slot (Available) Hard Drive: 120GB SATA II (7200rpm, 2MB cache) Optical Drive: DVD±RW 16x Multiformat Dual-Layer Optical Drive Up to 8.5GB with Dual-Layer Media Write max: 16x DVD±R, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD+RW, 4x DVD+R DL, 40x CD-R, 24x CD-RW Read max: 16x DVD-ROM, 40x CD-ROM Media Reader: High-Performance 15-in-1 Digital Media Manager™ xD-Picture Card™, CompactFlash® I (CF), CompactFlash® II, Secure Digital™ (SD), Mini Secure Digital™ (Mini SD), Multi Media Card (MMC), Reduced Size MMC (RS-MMC), MMC Mobile, MMC Plus, Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick Pro®, Memory Stick Pro® Duo, SmartMedia, IBM Microdrive Video: Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Up to 224MB Shared Video Memory PCI-Express® (PCI-E x16) slot available for upgrade Sound: 6-channel (5.1) high-definition audio Amplified Stereo Speakers (USB-Powered) Communications: 56K ITU v.92-ready Fax/Modem (RJ-11 port) Intel® 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 port) Peripherals: Standard multifunction keyboard, 2-button wheel mouse

Well, when we bought the system, it did have Windows Vista. My brother took Vista off and Put Windows XP on. After that SL worked WONDERFUL until the past couple of weeks. Can I download any drivers and install them or won't that work?

Oh and since I hate Intel GA's, I take no responsibility if you blow up the OS on the system cuz it's wrong and it borks things up.

My Secondlife also crashes after I log in. It was running fine about 3 days ago. I started it up today, and it stays on for about 5 seconds, and crashes.
I tried logging in numorous times, but it didn't help.
Anyone?

Mitsu,
is it possible you're having network problems? The is currently a known crash when the program can not reach the login server. This will be visible in the secondlife.log after the crash.
