Half of other avatars not showing

Whenever I go into an area, sometimes everyone shows up, but a lot of the time anywhere from a few to almost all the other avatars just simple aren't there. Sometimes I see just their attachments, but sometimes I see nothing at all.
How do I know they're there when they're totally invisible? I hear them talking, I see them on the minimap, but they're not there. -.-

This is aggravating.

This is indeed quite aggravating. I have had many a time when I would have this problem make itself known 20 or 30 times during a session.

Just in case you don't know the "Change your active group" trick, you will probably find that changing your active group will make the avatar skins appear, if you are having the same problem I and many other others have had for years.

You don't even have to really change your group, just select and activate a different one and then change back to the one your had or none and select activate again.

This is not offered as an excuse for the program not being able to consistently display avatars. Being annoyed by this is quite reaasonable.

Huh, didn't know that trick. For me, this appeared with the latest version of SL, before now everything was breeze keen.
I'll try the active groups thing and see if it works, thanks!
