Using HTML help through firewall

I'm using SL from within my corporate firewall. When I try the HTML help I get an error saying the URL could not be accessed. The error message looks like it is generated locally (it has references to my local tech support), so I don't think the Help browser is making it through the firewall ( I can get to the URL with my browser ok). I have the proxy set in the Network Preferences - perhaps the Help system isn't looking at that setting?
Has anybody else run into this problem?

Proxy?

Check your proxy settings in your regular browser. My guess would be that it is configured to use a proxy server, rather than direct access, and your network blocks all direct HTTP (port 80) traffic. Since the browser inside SL hasn't been configured to use your proxy, it won't work.

There is a space in the Network area of Preferences for setting a proxy, but I'm not certain what it does -- it may set up a proxy for accessing SL itself, rather than setting one up for HTTP.

It's supposed to be for Mozilla (even though it's been in Preferences since before 1.10.1), but I haven't yet verified that it is working now that F1 Help is using HTML.
