Whoops - Lost in the floor!

Hello there =]

Hehe, I have a slight.. er.. dilemma which I thought someone might be able to help with.

On SL I'm only about a week old so extremely new, but i'm renting an apartment. By accident I dragged a top from my inventory to the apartment floor (it was below the object I was trying to get out, and I must've missed - oops) and it's completely disappeared.

I don't think tops are meant to be dragged onto the ground, which is why it appears to have evaporated into thin air - or, its invisible somewhere and taking up prims.

I've looked everywhere and i've tried looking with ctrl+alt+T just incase that helped but it didn't seem to.

I'm not too keen to tell my landlord just yet because i've only been there 4 days. -_- I don't know much about clothing so i'm not sure what's happened.

Is there any way I might resolve this?

Thanks a lot =]

Don't be afraid to ask your landlord to look for your item, this sort of thing happens all the time, even to old timers like me. However, it is likely that it was put into your lost and found folder rather than the floor prim unless you have modify rights. If you do have modify rights you can right click the prim, select edit and look under contents to see if it's there. If the item was clothing that wasn't in a box then it can't be out taking up prims and may simply be lost from the database server which is becoming much more common lately.

You can look at the mini map and your items show up as blue-green dots, you can usually use the map to locate lost items if you don't have a lot of other prims in the same area.

Ahh, thanks a lot! =]

I've checked the floor prims content and it isn't there, and it's not in my L&F folder so I guess it's been lost by the server as you said. That's ok, it wasn't much special, I was just worried it was going to be lurking somewhere using up my prim limit. =P

Thanks so much for your help! =]
