Hi, about 2 weeks ago I have downloaded and installed SL for the first time, andcreated an acount When I tried to start SL I got a message about my Intel chipset drivers being out of date. So I updated the drivers of my graphics cart (nVidia GeForce FX 5200) and the drivers of my motherboards chipset drivers. After that I was able to play SL once. The next day when I restarted the computer I got the same message again and since then I can't get it right.

I have updated the chipset drivers as well as the graphics cart drivers to the latest versions which I got from HP and when that did not any good, I downloaded the driver update packages from the manufacturers website (nVidia and Intel), but still no succes on starting SL.

I browsed trough the SL-logfiles, but I don't exactly know what to look for and can't see where it's goimg wrong.

Can someone help me to solve this please?

The configuration of y computer:

Hardware:
HP Pavillion t390.nl
Mother board: HP name Yale-UL6E, (= ASUS P4SD-LA)
Processor: Intel P4 HT 3,00 GHz
Chipset: Intel Springdale-PE, GMCH rev. A2 (= Intel 865PE)
- Chipset "North Bridge": Intel 82865PE MCH rev. A2
- Chipset "South Bridge": Intel ICH5 rev. A2
Memory: 512 MB RAM

Graphics cart:
nVidia GeForce FX 5200
Memory : 128 MB

Operating system:
Windows XP SP2

Has someone the same problems or had them before and help me out here?
Thanx

I get the same message and know that my chipset, bios and drivers are all current.

I just ignored it.

So are you like us and simply do not/cannot play SecondLife?

No, the game plays fine. I just clicked OK on that message the first time it came up and it let me log right in.

Hmm, lucky you.

In my scenario the following step prompts me that a file it is trying to access cannot be opened. Thus, it quits the loading process and tells me to reboot or reinstall -- of course, after dozens of attempts, the message still prompts to no avail.

Out of curiosity I went to intel's site here http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/index.htm?iid=CorporateV3+Header_2_Product_Chip

and found my chipset (865PE) and ran the updated driver - the message went away.

*Sigh*

more than 2 weeks further and having tried almost everything, and still not able to play. I just can't get SL started. I asked for help at SL Technical Support and I am still e-mailing with the guys and girls from there, but until now they can't find the problem, but they realy try to help me, so many credits for the Technical Supprt people from Linden.

When something new comes up I will post it in this forum. Thanx for all the compasionfrom you all.

Thanks for the tip, but it unfortunately was not positive. Same result.

Guys, this is a known bug. Even if your PC is fine, it will always tell you this.
Just click cancel when it tells you this, and then the game will proceed.
Have fun!
