I was curious that if the apparent problem are scripts checking email 700 times a second, would it not make sense to simply stop/block that behavior/command until a patch is issued?

Call me crazy but it's what I would do as sysadmin for Second Life.

Then again, I only joined a few days ago so what does a newbee who uses other email applications to check email know?

And as requested by the SL application, I'm attaching my log file to help the developers determine why I keep getting result #7.

Morphy, this file would be best attached in an email to support@secondlife.com after you've let them know in advance of the surrounding circumstances -- I wanted to let you know it contains your REAL NAME too, I don't know if that was intentional or not but I can't message you on here and I'm not inworld right now, so just wanted to let ya know about that. :)

Morphy, just so you know, the inworld objects that send and receive E-mail are not there to check the E-mail of the user. What they do is send and receive E-mails to and from websites and other inworld objects. This is how if say you buy a new shirt for your av off a vendor website, SL knows to give it to you.

I do agree with you that some measure needs to be taken to stop these things from demanding so much resource, but shutting them down is not a viable answer. That would cripple many businesses and other projects that rely on object E-mail.
