Not able to stretch/resize jewelry that is modify

I try to stretch say jewelry and I get the little white boxes but they don't work. I think I may have hit a button I shouldn't have. Any advice appreciated
I can still stretch clothes and the jewelry is modifiable.

Update: I deselected stretch textures...but I need to make the jewelry smaller and I can't...that is my problem..I can make it bigger

This sounds to me like one piece is already the smallest size, which is 0.010. You can get around this by finding the piece and increasing the size manualy, if that wont be too noticable.

If the offending piece (or pieces) wouldnt work out of scale with the rest, you could try making tiny prims using other methods like path-cut and such...I think Torley Linden has a tutorial on this on youtube. (best tutorials on the web, if you ask me)
