I had a hard crash while logging out of SL last night, and today when I try to log in, I get about 50% of the game loaded, and it crashes to desktop. However, when I log in with my secondary account, I get in just fine. Is there a way to fix a broken character file, or will I just need to cancel that account and start over?

Delete the entire SL folder from where it lives (usually C:\Program Files\Second Life, Mac I have no idea).
More importantly, if on a PC, wipe C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data\SecondLife.
I suspect your avatar files on your machine have gotten corrupted which makes the viewer fall over. Good luck.
