Asset Server Issue??

Anybody else seeing the following problem this am? You log on, get the usual messages, then "downloading clothing" then when you're rezzed, you are all grey, default shape, no skin, default hair.. If you try to change clothing from inventory, you get a "cant change until clothing loads".. Teleporting is boned also, so I figure this is another datapoint in the idea that MySQL is WAY out of its league being an SL asset server...

Don't see anything on the worthless LL blog, so either its global and their asleep at the switch OR its just me.. (don't see how THAT could be..)...

Check pending downloads in the sim youre in, if its in the 100/1000+ its the sim, tp elsewhere, usually drops to 0 then you wont be gray anymore, and others.

i dont even know where to start right now. This started happening about 2 hours ago to me. I have no lag...no packet loss. I reinstalled SL. I am basically dead. I have barely any inventory at all now, just empty folders. Which means, no shape, no building, biz stops basically, OH and a busted friends list (which i can live without...but eh, it is part of SL, isnt it?), cant edit appearance at all...shall i go on? Database problems are the scariest to me i guess.

I have contacted SL Help 3 times. No response at all. I never take issue with SL...has taught me TONS of patience. But, for some reason when i know there are many people..having HUGE problems and no announcement has been made ummm i get a bit frustrated.

PLEASE HELP!

UPDATE: relogged again...lost count of the number of times BUT...YAYYY i am me again. and i have stuff in those folders again. Will let You know if i 'die' again.

ANOTHER UPDATE: i look okies...but all my inventory folders are basically empty again........HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER other UPDATE: okies, this is turning into a blog *laughs and shakes her head*. Of course after my mini meltdown (which i work hard to contain...normally...i promise) I took the perverbial RL break...IT worked....there are about 10,000 less citizens on the grid and things are looking much better. *grins* Stable for now.

Although, now that i think of it...i have been in SL for almost 2 years in different forms. Have only needed to ask 'Help' for help four times............twice in the last month.....and........no answer either time. 50/50 hmmmm

more people...less help available maybe? i like people, just need help sometimes. Even like a - "...the line in front of You is 500 citizens and will be XX days for a response", response. anything...please?

Having the same problem myself.
I only last 5 minutes then crash to desktop.

I don't even get an opportunity to TP anywhere else before a crash, so it seems I am stuck.
I'll try an out of game SL-URL to see if that helps. But all I keep getting are time out errors and then I crash.

The asset server is well and truly ready for the toilet today. I predict that by the end of the evening the grid will be down for maintenance.

Tas, the OP, here again... Later this afternoon, 4:30ishSLtime, I decided to be a brave girl and see what was going on inworld.. At least at my hangout at the Shelter in Isabel, things seem to have settled down.. I'm back to my normal self.. Inventory is a bit slow opening folders but works.. Hope the other posters on this thread are seeing the same thing... Fingers crossed!!!

Update: Ditto to the above poster who contacted support, and got the runaround.. I STILL havent seen any mention of this on the oh-so-worthless LL "blog"... Maybe they think if they don't admit there's a problem, maybe we'll assume its just us.. and not the whole "world" with problems...

i am having this problems myself and i cleared my cache several times and finaly uninstalled and reinstalled the software but siwaz..it did not do any good.

i can log on but my clothing does not load.
i am ruthed, can not change my shape or clothing and can not even rez some objects on my land or upload textures. feh.

it went away for a few hours but came back worse today.

maybe the maintenance on the 4th will fix this. i am hoping because i am not having fun.

Just because you are logged into SL, doesnt mean SL's asset server knows you are there. What I do is to 'prod' the asset server by rebaking and opening my inventory to recent items and typing A in the search, gradually it fills up. Give that a try, it may work for you.

If it doesnt, at least you will look good standing there frozen and eventually you will know all the things in your inventory that begin with A
