If u look at the picture my custom building I made, over 100+ prims it got all messed up like if my sim caught an aftershock of that big earthquake in South Asia. I relogged in and out but no help. I check the parameters of the prims that connected and it was perfect number wise but it just looked real bad. I checked with my gf computer and it looked fine.

I just want to warn some of you that there may be a problem out there and check your parameters b4 you go unlinking and moving stuff. Maybe my crappy GeForce 4 MX440 card.

Does it only look bad when you zoom out like that? If so, try turning your object detail up. You can find that in your Preferences menu.

All the time. Close or Zoomed. I didn't really go out to the world but what I remembered everything looks pretty normal except for my building.

That has happened to me before, no lie.

Also, all of my pyramid somehow got unlinked yesterday.

Hmmm...

Weird things happening lately. Has anyone noticed that if you sit and start chatting, you are sometimes unseated?

The difference between me and you = 0/2

I never thought we were so similar

Yep.

And things are getting randomly unlinked.

I suspect the asshat server is still having problems...

I've seen that kind of thing happen before. It nearly gave me an aneurism last week when I thought I'd broken my build. I think it might have something to do with packet loss and missing updates on editing, but I'm not sure.

More and more I only move large groups of prims around by linking them to a guide prim that is aligned to grid. Link stuff up, move the guide, unlink. It's much safer. And really annoying to have to do it too.

if you move large unlinked sets via dragging the axis, then move, and hold the mouse button down for a while before releasing. sometimes you'll notice them all jump back and then 1 or 2 at a time jump to the new position. Seems to be the server catching up to the client.

Well I think I found the problem. Thanks to Catherine's suggestion. It looked the same either up close or far away but I did turn up the object detail and the problem is gone. I believed I changed object detail to zero because of a Lag freebie guide out there. It said to set object, avatar, & tree detail to zero. Every looks great now. Thanks for the help guys.

this keeps happening to me, too. i am trying to build a wall around my base flooring, and every time i leave/log out and come back, its all out of whack, the walls are sized differently than what i had them at, and i have to keep redoing them. i gave up trying to build walls =p

Remember, object detail is a purely client-side feature.

Your client already knows what the a cylinder should look like. All it needs are the position, rotation, scale and the cut/shear/etc settings, and it'll draw it on its own. The reason you might want to turn it down is if you're getting very low FPS. Even then, I still like to leave mine up and turn down draw distance instead. Objects can be very ugly when you turn the detail down, you know. :)
