Still getting yellow

Does ANYONE know what is causing this or how to fix it: If I drag anything across the screen, be it texture, object, notecard, script, etc., it causes me to see this nasty bright yellow all over my screen. Almost looks like fog. I have found that the only way to get rid of it is to relog. The only way to avoid it is to make sure if i'm dragging something to an av, I go through their profile and put the windows right next to each other so that i'm not dragging across play area.

I know thats a rather long-winded way of saying 'I see yellow' so i'll post a few pictures to show you what i'm getting. Note, sometimes its not yellow but other colors that act in the exact same manner. Just mostly yellow. I know that i'm not the only person experiencing this, as a freind of mine freaked out the other day about it and i've seen a forum post here in the past. I've made at least 3 bug reports about it, and talked to one Linden who told me to update drivers and uninstall/reinstall SL (which I did). None of the above have helped and I've not heard ANYTHING on if they have been able to reproduce the bug or if they are working to fix it.

Yep - that happens to me when I turn off fog in the debug menu.

Turning fog back on cures it.

What vid card are you using, seems like the fog effects broke, try ingame

fog distance ratio : 0 or 4

Bah, I usually turn off fog and clouds both as I find them vastly annoying I will try this, though.

My settings are as follows:
Draw Distance 96 (up to 128 when I have to take pics)
Fog Distance 4.0
Drop Draw Distance 0 (Disable far clip not enabled)

And my graphics card is a Raedon 9250 AGP


I'll try the fog first and then the disable far clip and see if it helps

Yup, its the fog, you were right Jillian. Any way of fixing this short of playing with fog constantly on?

Fog Distance 0.5 = lots of fog , 4= none

I set mine to 3.7 - hides the "edge of land" drop-off without messing much with texture colors. (Why does fog in SL look like smog?)

For your somewhat shorter draw distance, I'd take it to 3.8 or 3.9.

No, even at 4 there is still fog. I've edited settings.ini to 10 and that gets rid of most of the fog, but if you make ANY preference change in SL, the fog will revert back to its max setting of 4, which sucks. Why SL put a limit on the fog is beyond me but it should be COMPLETELY disableable in preferences without having to dork with the debug menu.

And, of course, the SL 1.7-introduced bug where everything becomes yellow should be fixed, too...and all the other bugs SL 1.7 introduced (lag, having to login with a normal-character Windows user profile directory name, etc)!

Woah, I have my fog and clouds turned off and have never seen yellow like that. Remember, don't eat yellow snow...even in SL
