Need help

I haven't been able to logon for a few days due to an odd problem. Everytime I try to logon is says "The NEWVIEW.EXE file is linked to missing export DSOUND.DLL:11." Any ideas? I'd really like to play again.

That sounds like a DirectX problem honestly. Try downloading the latest released version of Direct X, installing, restarting. If this doesn't work, please email [email]support@lindenlab.com[/email] and We'll take a deeper look at it.

That helped, but just for the hell of it, I tried to login, it says "check login for errors and check for caps lock" or something, then I get put back to login screen and in my password window there are like 25 letters and mine isn't that long.

Make sure that:

A) Your password is correct when you type it the first time(delete those 25 things and retype)

B) You haven't been banned from the game. When I was banned, that is the message I got when I tried to login.

As for it being 25 characters long, that is normal, its so people can't guess your password if they run the program while at your computer.

How should I check for banishment?

Well, I am pretty sure that you would know if you were banned. Go to www.secondlife.com and do a lost password for yourself. It will send you your current password...try logging in and see what message you get. Since the world is currently not open, you *SHOULD* get the message saying that the world is currently closed.

Meh, is there a Linden who can check if I am banned? I put in right password over and over and over etc., etc. Any other ideas?

Well, still open to ideas, but now I got the normal pop-up, pw still changed though...something to ponder I guess.

If you get banned/suspended, you will very clearly be told via email.

Otherwise, your account will considered fine/active/happy/chocolatey-creme-filled.
