Has anyone run into this name? I am new to this whole game... like about 3 hours new... and while exploring, something trapped me near a sandbox that is like a land filled with blue boxes. I keep getting a message saying that some project (name changes each time I log back in) last named, Fred McCellan, wants to animate my avatar. It then makes my avatar say horrible things and will not let her even get up off the ground. This, whatever the h*** it is, actually grabbed me from flying and froze my avatar, game and computer. I am fairly ticked off that someone would try and destroy my computer this way and would like some help here. Thanks!

Good idea to remove the names from your post, however unpleasant what they have done is, you can get banned for naming them.
If it asks to animate your AV say "no". Also try logging in somewhere different, on the preferences menu tick the box about "show log in location on start screen" or words to that effect. Choose the "type in location" box from the drop down menu, and put in a different sim - any sim will do as it long as it different.
Once you are in, check whether you are wearing any unknown attachments, type "Worn" into the search box at the top of your inventory. If you don't recognise any of them, remove and delete. If you know what all the attachments are, take everything off and start again until something triggers the problem.
If none of that works, try clearing cache, maybe even uninstall, manually delete all traces of SL, and reinstall. I've had odd probelems that wouldn't go away unless i got rid of SL and started again from scratch.
If none of that works, I'm sure someone else on here will have better ideas!

I'll admit I haven't read every single word of the TOS but why would naming an AV that is obviously violating TOS get you banned?
Report the abuse. Don't just let it go.

From: Whisper Dallagio I'll admit I haven't read every single word of the TOS but why would naming an AV that is obviously violating TOS get you banned? You wouldn't just get banned for doing it once, at most an "official" warning depending on how malicious it was maybe, in this case it's a mistake and the thread will just get locked at some point. As to why you'd want to discourage people from naming in the first place: "Whisper Dallagio just griefed me and said the most awful, intolerant things!". Since I just made that up, you didn't do that, but noone reading it would know you didn't. Plenty of people have a grievance with someone else, but the forums aren't the place to point fingers, whether it's justified or not (because we can't tell either way).

Hi Kaviera, As you are very new I dont suppose youre as worldly wise as many others. Theres a lot to learn and it can be very confusing at first.
1/ Dont name names on the forum (I have no idea why you cant do this, but you cant) 2/ Dont click 'YES' to anything from anyone unless you know who they are. 3/ There are tos*pots in SL same as in RL 4/ Have fun
It sounds like you have been 'animated' by clicking the 'yes' permissions. Im not sure how you get rid of this animation 'control' by another, some of these are more permanent than others. Many can be stopped by logging out and logging back in. Im hoping that someone else here can advise you if that doesnt work.
