Well i never really wrote on these forums yet, never needed too, but these last 2 months SL
really been acting up.

4 mainland sims that i work with that i been on well you create and object do what ever you normally do, sometimes scripting testing etc.
then i decide to delete the object now object not delete, and now says object has no owner and no creator.

land return items not work either. and this is getting worse.

upload / download ques of the mysql server are having big issues and as months go by the more frequent its becoming.

if your going to use mysql code it right ^^

happened last month too us too and we ended up doing total return on land becuase lots of phantom objects more time and work wasted because sl bugged server side code.

sounds to me you need people on the team techs that can actually deal with these problems so coders can do there fixes.

have lindens on the servers checking grid looking at reports run rolling restarts on the grid if needed.

but the issues reley in the way you cache the database also the use of how the data is stored in the schema.

lets hope second life 2 is going to improve this ^^

also any plans for rolling restarts please as its needed ^^

I had the same problem, posted, and it was eventually fixed. However, while many assume that it was the patch that fixed it... it was not, because it was after 2 patches that my really problematic "phantom object" was removed... and when that was removed the item I placed on top if where it was located that was basically telling people to walk around (so they wouldnt get stuck) was removed also! So someone came and actually fixed the problem and returned my big sign to me too :o

well the actuall bugs seems to be the way the each sims database upload / download que
when you delete an object its in a que for deletion by the server.
but seems to fail, i would say being the nature of mysql that the load is far too much the way that dealt with mysql and queries are being dropped, packet loss etc.
so the result data loss the sim does not know when to delete the object becuase its lost the information.
and after few restarts where the database is being cleaned, otmized the object is being fixed.

lindens please hire someone who can work out a better plan for mysql, cache and clustering is the the only solution, too many indexs in code too is bad.

lets hope this probem will be delt with, i wish i could help but server side code is not open source yet :(( other wise i be digging into your code and fixing the bugs,

p.s find a better solution for jira becuase it crashes my pc :((

I'm having a similar invisible prim that was deleted is still here... I keep crashing into it, very disconcerting. When I do an alt-shift-ctrl-5 I cannot see anything there but a few feet over there is a "sword of strife" that I can right click and read edit pages but can't delete it and can't send it back to it's owner, the error is I don't have permissions to take it off the grid (paraphrased). I own the property and have return in 1 min set.

False alarm on the "sword of strife" problem, it is on my neighbors 512 prim lot, in the middle of my parcels. I still have the invisible deleted yet solid object problem tho.

I am still seeing problems today, even after the supposed fix to the asset server. I have a bunch of stuff missing from my inventory (cleared cache didn't help) and the same phantom prim problem I had immediately before the update. As others have stated, the prims appear in the sat upon/selected part of the count. I found that setting the land for sale without objects and then cancelling the sale returned the prims to the 'owner' part of the count, but they still won't return or delete and are still invisible which suggests to me that they are gone from the client side, but still there on the server side. I daren't build anything at the moment which is a real nuisanse.

Ohhhhh... you are right, I didn't notice that the phantom/invisible prim is listed under sat on. I don't know if it makes a difference but my invisible-deleted-but still there item is almost right on top of a region line boundry (Enchin and Dorje). I have flushed my cache logged out and back several times and cold booted enough times now :/
