Hi guys, just posting some tehc feedback.
I was running SL and browsing internet for a while, when I entered a site that has a java applet in it.
As soon as I accessed the site, SL and the browser window began to flick-lag down suddenly, the mouse moved very slowly, as if the processor was workinng with a overly heavy load; the network transfers also dropped hard.

As soon as I managed to close down the site containing Java (closing my IE browser window) all went back to normal.

Seems SL and java have some problems there, this also happened when running java applicattions on my computer, like azureus (java based torrent transfer client)

So brought this up to your attention.
Hope it helps. :D

Remember Java is an emulated language, meaning that it's a resource hog on any machine pretty much. That being said, it usually isn't a problem with modern PC's as they are extremely powerful compared to bygone days. Unfortunat. it also means that a machine that's about maxed out (as a game like 2L has a tendency to do) will not have enough resources free to run java applets in a speedy fashon, which will slow down the game also while your OS tries to dynamically shift resources to and from both softwares wanting them.
