Can anybody explain this error message, I see it when attempting to run the Second Life program,....
"Can't create GL rendering context"
,.... is it to do with my graphics card?

Hi Hunter. Well, please do go on -- what sort of graphics card are you using, for example? :)

NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go (Toshiba),....
Do you know what this error message refers to?

OpenGL is the standard cross-platform 3d rendering library. That error probably means that you haven't installed the proper video drivers. If you have a laptop, you may have some problems installing the official ones from Nvidia's site, but try those first. If you can't, download the latest ones from Toshiba's site.

As a warning; Any GeForce 4 MX is really considered absolute-minimum-spec by us; they're GeForce 2's for all intents and purposes. (Bad naming convention on nVidia's part.) The 420's are the slowest of the 4MX's, and a mobile version will typically have even lower performance.

Drivers should help a lot, but I'd recommend hitting our Preferences Guide once you get it running:
