in your inventory when you right click an object it has an option for "copy" and one for "copy object UUID" (i think that's right but i can't check right now). what's "copy object UUID" mean? i tried it but it just seemed to copy and past the object like normal.

The UUID is a universally unique identifier, a string like 27612376-91827-98127-18288 that identifies an object, a notecard, a sound clip, a texture, etc. in Second Life. No two objects have the same UUID.
Within the context of your inventory, there's not much difference between an object and its UUID; your inventory is basically just a collection of UUIDs. So copying and pasting a UUID within your inventory is the same as copying and pasting an object. However, you can paste a UUID into text files, including scripts. A UUID lets a script refer to a specific object unambiguously, whereas an ordinary name (like "Object" or "gun" might refer to any number of things. |

So are there new UUID's for every .5m plywood cube rezzed and do they recycle old numbers or something after objects are deleted?
