Just tried moving a paid-for, no-copy item from my inventory into a gift box, and got this error message:
"Inventory creation on in-world object failed"
The item never showed up in the object's inventory, but it DID vanish from MY inventory. Relogging and clearing the cache didn't help resolve this.
Is there ANY hope of ever seeing this item again, or is it gone for good?
Update: I've just discovered that the "failed to create" item not only disappeared, but it took other items out of my inventory with it!
I bought some hair ribbons to give as gifts, in packages of 6 colors. I bought 3 different styles, then divided them up by color... all 3 red ribbons into a box, and so on. I took all these boxes (labeled "Red Ribbons", etc.) back into inventory. I intended to put these boxes of ribbons into other gift boxes: a gift for person A, with the red ribbons box and some t-shirts inside a present; a gift for person B, with the blue ribbons box and some t-shirts inside a present, and so on.
When I moved the first ribbon box (the red) out of my inventory into the contents of the first present, I got "inventory creation on in-world object failed". The box of red ribbons did not show up in the present box's contents but did disappear from my inventory. In fact, ALL the boxes of ribbons disappeared from my inventory! It seems that all the ribbons that shared a link with the "failed to create" ribbons (that is, had been sold to me together) also got waxed, along with the gift boxes I'd made to hold them.
