I have one, and there's been several times now where it will get very quirky in world. I use the ALT key to cam around, not the panel. When I do this and click around, the view will go WAY out of the area. Or there are times when I'm in edit and (for example) try to drag a script (or something) into the contents and I've drug/selected an entire area (such as all the prims around the main object).

Now at first I thought it was just me. But recently was talking to a friend about it who also has an optical and she has similar issues.

What I'm wondering is, does anyone else have this issue? This never was an issue, then the past 2 weeks it's happened quite a few times. There doesn't seem to be a 'fix' for it on my end.

Logitech Mx700 Cordless KB/M duo. Batteries are good, changed channels back and forth. Mouse within distance of the base. Relogged SL. Rebooted PC. Turned off PC to reset. Doesn't seem to fix it. Then when out of SL for a period of time seems to fix it self. I've even tried to test the mouse by dragging files around in folders on my PC and I can't recreate the instance out of SL.

Anywho, feedback if anyone else is having this issue. Driving me MAD here!

If you have it hooked up to your USB port, try PS/2, or vise versa, see if it makes any difference.

Actually I switched it over to USB when it was buggering up yesterday to see if that would make a difference. It didn't after I rebooted/relogged. But when in this morning before grid downtime seemed ok. But that's how it goes anywho so not sure if that's a 'time out' from buggering up or it's fixed.

Like I said, it's never known when it will strike - just will alla sudden start caming all over without warning. Seems to me that when I'm caming in edit mode that might trigger it.

Check your mousing surface (i.e. mousepad). Try going straight on your desktop, or changing mousepads.

With the invention of optical and laser meeces it actually becomes important what your placing the mouse on as some materials won't reflect the beam properly.

I actually use a gaming grade 2000dpi laser mouse with a ratzpad which is optmized for that kind of mouse, its a bit pricey but it never fails me either and I get pinpoint accuracy with my mouse down to the pixel (good for positioning piercings etc).

I have the MX Laser Mouse from Logitech. I don't seem to have any of the issues you are describing. Could be a FLAW in the mouse??

Well it's not a new mouse and i've been using this type since I've been in SL actually. Never been an issue with the hardware setup before. I have an optical pad, newish by a few months but far from worn. It's just strange how all of a sudden the past 2 weeks there would be these issues when there hasn't been anything like this in the almost 3 years I've been in SL.

Thanks for all the feedback, at least making me think of things I haven't already :)
