How is everyone going now with getting into SL and what is it like when you get in? Nothing is rezzing for me. Is anyone else still having this problem or is there something wrong with my internet connection? Usually everything load very fast and I have no problem finding anything in my inventory (even though it is completely disorganised!). Now I do not see things in my inventory that I know are there. My notecards will also not load, and parts of my clothing are missing.

Well, SL has been having major issues today... especially logging in, and lag... have you tried deleting your cache and relogging at all?

We were doing rolling server updates through most of Wednesday. This caused a higher server load than normal as each server grabs database info as it restarts.
At the same time, when we do a client update, some software on client computers gets angry. After a Second Life update, it's always a good idea to double-check that the Windows Firewall is still off, and that other firewall or internet security programs didn't detect the SL executable change and block the program due to a supposed virus... |

I hope I'm reading that right... we did have a new version release last night. (Yes, again.) The best way to make sure you're running the newest version is to uninstall, then download the latest version from http://secondlife.com/download

Lee,
This is what is occuring for me, please advise: Is SL suffering some kind of ISP meltdown? It is running extreemly badly from over here in the UK. Currently I am running on 108% packetloss (?!) Here is the tracroute - as you can see it seems to be stopping once it gets past San Francisco: 2 24 ms 23 ms 22 ms pos3-0.he-lon0.as9105.net [212.74.108.6] 3 25 ms 21 ms 23 ms so-1-0-3-0.lon22.ip.tiscali.net [213.200.77.169] 4 95 ms 89 ms 95 ms so-1-0-0.nyc33.ip.tiscali.net [213.200.81.253] 5 89 ms 95 ms 95 ms dcr4-so-5-1-0.NewYork.savvis.net [208.173.135.177] 6 173 ms 176 ms 179 ms dcr2-loopback.SanFranciscosfo.savvis.net [206.24.210.100] 7 173 ms 178 ms 179 ms kar1-ge-1-0-0.SanFranciscosfo.savvis.net [206.24.211.22] 8 170 ms 167 ms 167 ms internap.SanFranciscosfo.savvis.net [208.173.173.10] 9 189 ms 180 ms 167 ms border1.ge1-1-bbnet1.sfo002.pnap.net [63.251.63.1] 10 * * * Request timed out. 11 * * * Request timed out. 12 * * * Request timed out. 13 * * * Request timed out. 14 * * * Request timed out. 15 * * * Request timed out. 16 * * * Request timed out. 17 * can you explain this? |
