My gf and me are both running SL on laptops with bad graphic cards (Intel 945GM). Details of both our setups can be found below. Both are running latest client, only real difference is the OS (me running XP she running Vista since Toshiba gave no option for XP).

The first problem is when she looks at larger pictures (like the posters in stores) they get white (disappear) when she tries looks up closer. Smaller pics dont turn white but bigger do. Which is irritating when you want to take a better look while shopping of course. They dont come back as long as she stays there either. My client has no problem at all.

The second problem is that her fps is dramatic (3-4) and mine is reasonable (10-15), considering the bad graphic cards. I really have no clue what would cause the difference since our systems are almost the same in hardware.

Of course i want SL being fun for both of us, but this way she doesnt enjoy it very. Anyone a clue in what direction to look? The most important differences are OS (XP-Vista) and OpenGL builds, as far as i can see.

Greetings and thanks for thinking with us,

Marcel and Virga

with your video cards its a dice roll if SL is gonna work anyways, add in SL (and alot of other games) issues with vista and well ...

The pictures going white I was able to solve by changing the OpenGL settings. Driver Memory use was set on low, after changing to high that problem is solved. Frame rate is also a bit higher but still a lot slower then on my laptop with the same settings.
