I can't run SL now since the upgrade, i'm using an inspiron 6000
Could somebody take a look at this page and tell me, would i be doin
the right thing if i get the chance to upgrade to the inspiron 9300?
Would that fix my problem?
Or is there anything i can do to this inspiron 6000?
Actually i don't have the cash for another system, but i'd like to get back in SL.

Any sugestions greatly appreciated.

Things thats better on inspiron 9300, vs Inspiron 6000, and since SL Like nvidia ;

9300 can have : NVIDIA® GeforceTM Go 6800 with 256MB of DDR video memory
9300 and 6000 : both have 256 ram <.<

Ram ; thats not nearly enough to run SL without swapping to harddrive alot, normal 128 view distance, normal crowd in SL can take 300-500mb ram, a large view distance can eat 800-900 ram.

Do yourself a favor if you are going to get this, get LEAST 512, pref 1024 ram

Thats pretty much the diffrence, you wont get that big oh ah experience unless you have cpu change,

SL is all about cpu better the happier it is, vid card is a plus, but

High vid card/low cpu -> not that much diffrence in fps, rendering time utter slow
Medium vid card / high cpu -> less render time/texture/avatar loading

Youd be better off buying a desktop then a laptop tho -.- upgrading..laptops cost

Thanks alot guys,

The only thing i can say about this dell inspiron is they gave me double RAM i.e. 512.

I've been going round in circles for 3 days now, i'm still ringing Dell in Ireland where I
bought the system, but still getting transfered to India.
The sales person that did the deal won't answer my emails and hasn't answered my
phone messages. Guys i nIndia did ring me today, nice enoigh and I am guessing,
the reason that you're redirected to India is they cost alot less to have technicians.. and
as i've found out, Much better customer service i nIndia, but that doesn't help me oen bit
Shoul;dn't I be able to contact the plaCE WHERE I GOT/DID THE DEAL.

So it's gonna be a fair bit before I can come back, don't have another grand to blow.
